Monday, April 9, 2012
regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held April 9, 2012 at 9:00am in the Hickory County Library Community
Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
Vice-President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 9:04am.

President Doris Frye and Treasurer Sharon Barrett were absent; attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
The agenda was presented; the motion to approve the agenda was made by Gerda Fitts, seconded by Eva Cooper,
all in favor and the motion carried unanimously.
The minutes from the March meeting were reviewed,
after reviewing the meeting minutes, Eva Cooper made a motion to approve as presented, Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave her Administrator’s
Report. She reported that the Story Hours with the Preschool and local Head Start groups continued.
She noted that she had begun planning for the Library’s Summer Programming. She reported that
she was looking into battery back-ups for the Library’s computer servers. She also reported that
the Library would be offering a Genealogy class, beginning April 17, 2012.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for March. The balance as of April 9, 2012
was $136,800.30; this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports
for March, Eva Cooper made the motion to accept the report as presented, Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Library’s Circulation Reports for March. There were 27 new
cards issued with a Total Circulation for the month was 3582. Coulsell noted that the e-books had 112 checkouts
in March, reflecting increased use of that service.

Under Library Association Report, Library Association Secretary/Treasurer
Stacy Coulsell reported that the Library’s annual USDA payment was due in May.
Friends, Gerda Fitts reported that the Friends of the Library would be having a program on the book Caught Between Three Fires
by Tom Rafiner, later that day. She also noted that the Friends group had a successful fundraiser dinner
on March 25, 2012.
Under Old Business—the Board discussed plans for 2012 Equalization
Under New Business—Library Administrator presented the Library’s
First Quarter Balance Report and the Annual Report for the State Auditor’s Office. After reviewing
both reports, Eva Cooper made the motion to accept both reports as presented, Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion carried
The next meeting is to be May 14, 2012 at 9:00am
Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:45am.
