OF THE HICKORY COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD OF
October 13, 2014
The regular meeting of the Hickory County
Library Board was held October 13 2014 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library,
99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:05am.

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Also in attendance was Assistant Manager Tina Davis, attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
The minutes from the September meeting were reviewed, after reviewing
the minutes Sharon Barrett moved to accept the minutes as presented, Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report.
Coulsell reported that the program “Reading Has Gone to the Dogs,” has been well-attended, this program
is presented by Library volunteers Bill and Susan Arnold. Administrator Coulsell noted that the Preschool
and Head Start reading hours were back in session with the school year resuming. Coulsell noted that Celtic
Guitarist Jerry Barlow would perform later in the day. She also reported that there would be one final
children’s program for the year, Parasol Puppets would perform the “Teeny Tiny Woman” on October 25th
at 11:00am. Administrator Coulsell reported that the Library had received their annual USDA inspection
earlier in October. Coulsell noted the Library had been joined by a new volunteer, Judy Pearson.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for September.
The balance as of October 13, 2014 was $54,867.17. This reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After
hearing the Financial Reports for September, Eva Cooper made the motion to accept the report as presented.
Sharon Barrett seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. Coulsell presented the Third Quarter
Balance Report, after reviewing the report, Judy Baker moved to accept it as presented, Sharon Barrett seconded, and the motion
The Library’s Circulation
Report for September was presented by Assistant Manager Tina Davis. There were 39 new cards issued with
a Total Circulation for September of 3984. Noting that Circulation was down due to the closing of the bridge
at the south side of town.
Report-Library Board President Hal Geltmacher had nothing to report
Under Library Association-Association President Sharon Barrett had nothing to report.
Under Friends-Administrator Coulsell reported that the Annual Friends of the
Library Book Sale would be October 15-18th during library hours.
Under Old Business—it was noted that the MORE.net fees had increased, due to cuts in the state budget.
Under New Business, Administrator Coulsell reported that the Library had
a leak in the roof and was scheduled for repair. Coulsell also noted that the Library had received repairs
on the heating system. Administrator Coulsell requested that the Library have extended hours for Halloween,
the Library will be handing out candy during that evening.
