MEETING OF THE HICKORY COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES 

Monday, November 9, 2015

The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held November 9, 2015 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:02am.

Members present were:

President, Hal Geltmacher

Vice-President, Sharon Barrett

Treasurer, Gerda Fitts

Secretary Judy Baker

Trustee, Eva Cooper

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

After reviewing the agenda Sharon Barrett moved to accept the agenda as presented.  Eva Cooper seconded and the motion carried.

The minutes from the October meeting were reviewed.   Eva Cooper moved to accept the minutes as presented.  Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report.   Coulsell reported that Reading Has Gone to the Dogs continued.  Coulsell noted that the Preschool Story Hour and Head Start Story Hour continued.  Administrator Coulsell noted that she was nearing completion of the Statistical Report for the State Library, this is a report that compiles all circulation information, library resource and financial information.  This report is the basis for the Library’s state aid disbursements.  Coulsell also noted that she had spoken at the Hermitage School Career Day on November 5, 2015.    Coulsell reported that the adult computer classes were drawing to a close for the year.  Administrator Coulsell was considering having some Winter/Christmas themed children’s programming in December.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for October. The balance as of
November 9, 2015 $71,521.68 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts.  After hearing the Financial Reports for September, Sharon Barrett made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously
.

The Library’s Circulation Report for October was presented by Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell.  The Library had 24 new Library cards.  The total circulation for the month of October  was 4018.

Under President’s Report-Library Board President Hal Geltmacher had nothing to report.

Under Library Association-Library Association President Sharon Barrett had nothing to report.

Under Friends-there was none.

Under Old Business-- Coulsell reported that the water meter and waterline had been installed had been completed at the first of the month in October.  

Also Under Old Business- Coulsell reported that the Digitization Grant for the historic newspapers was nearing completion and the Newspapers would soon be available online through the Missouri State Historical Society website.

Additionally Under Old Business-the Board reviewed the Preliminary Budget for 2016.  It was noted that that the Library had received notice from the State Library that Equalization Funds would not be disbursed.  This item was tabled until final invoices for the year were received.

Under New Business-Sharon Barrett moved to transfer $3000.00 from the Contingency Line in the 2015 Budget to the Payroll Line.  Gerda Fitts seconded.  And the motion carried.

Also Under New Business the Board noted the upcoming 100th Birthday of Library Board Trustee Eva Cooper, a reception followed.

Having no further business and hearing no public comment the meeting adjourned at 10:45am.
