August 8, 2016
The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board
was held August 8, 2016 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage
Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Hal Geltmacher called
the meeting to order at 10:04am.
Members present were:
President, Hal Geltmacher
Treasurer, Gerda Fitts
Secretary Judy Baker
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Attendance was taken via the expense voucher. Trustee Eva Cooper was absent.
After reviewing the agenda Judy Baker moved to accept the agenda as presented.
Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried.
from the July meeting were reviewed. Sharon Barrett moved to approve the minutes. Gerda Fitts seconded
and the motion carried.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s
report. Coulsell reported that Reading Has Gone to the Dogs continued each Saturday.
Coulsell reported that all of the summer programming had been well attending, noting fifty in attendance for the magician,
fifty-four for the ventriloquist, and thirty for the puppet show. Administrator Coulsell reported that
a new session of adult basic computer classes would begin later that day. Coulsell noted that there would
be one final special program in October, Cowgirl Songstress Judy Coder would perform. This program will
coincide with the upcoming Friends of the Library book sale.
Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for July. The balance as of
August 8, 2016 was $91,090.21 this reflects the
balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for July, Judy Baker made the motion to accept
the Financial Reports as presented. Sharon Barrett seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The Library’s Circulation Report for July was presented by Library Administrator
Stacy Coulsell. The Library had 23 new Library cards. The total circulation for the
month of July was 3817. Noting an all-time high in e-book checkouts of 308.
Under President’s Report-there was none.
Under Friends-It was noted that the Friends of the Library will host their annual book sale the week of October
Under the Library Association-Association Sharon Barrett
reported that the Library Association had sought bids for roof repair and the bid had been awarded to CRD Construction.
She also noted that the Association had remitted the Annual Corporation filing to the Secretary of State.
It was also noted that the Association would begin to construct a Limited English Proficiency plan.
Under Old Business—Administrator Coulsell reported that the Library had upgraded
the internet speed from 5.0Mbps to 10.0 Mbps.
