The regular meeting of the Hickory
County Library Board was held October 10, 2016 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County
Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:01am.

Attendance was taken via the expense
voucher. Vice-President Sharon Barrett was absent.

The minutes from the September annual meeting were reviewed. Judy
Baker moved to approve the minutes. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried. The minutes from the regular
meeting were reviewed. Gerda Fitts moved to approve the September regular meeting minutes.
Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried.
Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell noted the she had ordered the five
iPads purchased through the State Library Digital Grant project. Coulsell also reported that
the Library would welcome a new volunteer beginning Friday, October 14, 2016, Jamie Hennessy would be volunteering once a
week. The Library will have a presence at the Hickory County Farmers Market Dutch Oven cook-off on October
15, 2016, Coulsell will be giving out free bookmarks and books while supplies last. Coulsell reported that the Library would
extend regular business hours on the night of October 31, 2016 for trick or treaters.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for September. The balance as of
2016 was $64,685.77 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for
September, Judy Baker made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion carried
Under President’s Report there was none.
Under Library Association-Library Association Secretary Stacy Coulsell reported that
the Library had completed the annual liability insurance report for the Association.
Under Friends-It was noted that the Friends would host their annual Book Sale beginning October 12th
and end October 14th.
Under Old Business-Administrator
Coulsell presented the Board the 2017 Preliminary Budget, this item was tabled until final year-end budget items were received.
Under New Business-The Board welcomed new member Shelly Aubuchon, it was
noted that Aubuchon will fulfill Eva Cooper’s term until 2018. Eva Cooper resigned from the board
due to health reasons. Also under New Business Administrator Coulsell reported that the Library would host
one final program for the year with Singer Judy Coder and the Notable Exceptions. Coder is an acoustic
guitar player and sings rodeo cowboy and bluegrass music. The Board also discussed new the new Federal
Overtime Payroll rulings and the effect it would have on Library employees, this new law will take effect, December 1, 2016.
This item was tabled until the November meeting.
Hearing no public
comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:00am.
