AT THE FEBRUARY 20, 2017 MEETING OF THE HICKORY
COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING
The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board
was held January 16, 2017 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage
Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Hal Geltmacher called
the meeting to order at 10:00am.
Members present were:

Secretary, Judy Baker
Trustee, Shelly Aubuchon
Stacy Coulsell, Library
Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
Vice-President Sharon Barrett was absent.

The minutes from the December meeting were reviewed.
Shelly Aubuchon moved to accept the minutes as presented, Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report.
Coulsell reported that both the Head Start and the Preschool story hours had resumed. Administrator
Coulsell reported that Bill Arnold had started the Tablet Class, the first session began on January 9th, and the
classes will be held for two hours and in four week sessions. There will be two sessions, Mondays and Fridays,
due to overflow in classes, and people are welcome to bring their own tablet device. The Children’s
Craft Days will continue monthly with a different theme each month. Coulsell also noted that the Library
will now be subscribing to the Kansas City Star.
Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for December. The balance as of
January 16, 2017 was $165,190.57 this reflects
the balance of both the Library accounts. Coulsell noted this included tax income for January. After
hearing the Financial Reports for December, Judy Baker made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Shelly
Aubuchon seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Report there was none.
Under Library Association Report-Library Association
Treasurer Stacy Coulsell noted that the Annual Report due into the USDA was due on February 28th.
Under Friends there was none.
Old Business- Administrator Coulsell reported that the Library had received a financial gift from the Benner family.
New fixtures and computers had been ordered for the Children’s Area and there will be a presentation made once
those items were received.
Under New Business-Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell
reported that the Library was in compliance with the Sunshine Law noting that the Board Minutes were available to the public
within 72 hours, made available to the local press, published on the Library’s website and time date and location of
meetings were noted on the Board Meeting agenda and minutes.
Also under New Business, Federal Holidays were discussed, Judy Baker made the motion to add Martin Luther King, Jr.
and Veteran’s Day to the Library’s paid closed holidays. Shelly Aubuchon seconded and the motion
Finally Under New Business,
Administrator Coulsell presented the Fourth Quarter Financial Balance Report for 2016. Gerda Fitts moved
to accept the report as presented, Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:00am
The next meeting is to be February 20, 2017 at 10:00am
