MEETING OF THE HICKORY COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Monday, June 19, 2017
The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held June 19, 2017 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library
Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:01am.
Members present were:
President, Hal Geltmacher
Treasurer, Gerda Fitts
Trustee, Shelly Aubuchon
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Sharon Barrett was absent. Attendance was taken via the expense voucher,
After reviewing the agenda Shelly Aubuchon moved to accept the agenda as presented. Gerda
Fitts seconded and the motion carried.
The minutes from the
May Regular meeting were reviewed. Gerda Fitts moved to accept the minutes as presented, Shelly Aubuchon seconded, and the
motion carried unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell
gave her Administrator’s Report—Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell reported that the Library had been at the
Hickory County Farmers the previous week offering library card registrations, and a few giveaways. Coulsell
also reported that the Preschool and Head Start story hours had come to a close for the school year, Coulsell visited the
Hermitage Preschool the week of May 4, 2017 for their final story hour and Head Start on June 14th for the final
story time of the school year. The Children’s Craft days continued with Library Volunteer Jamie Hennessy,
with each month growing in attendance. The Library had hosted the first of the summer programs, with Balloon
Artist Sammy J as the first performance. There were 34 patrons in attendance. Computer
instructor Bill Arnold will begin the first of the summer computer classes on June 19th beginning at 4pm, and running
the class for eight weeks. Bill Arnold will also begin an Osmo iPad Tablet application software outreach
in partnership with the Hickory County Senior Center on Wednesdays at 12:30pm, beginning June 21, 2017. Coulsell
is looking toward a banner for use with Program advertising. Coulsell is in the planning stages of offering
an adult guided painting class to begin later in the summer.
Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for May. The balance as of June 19, 2017 was $106,163.34 this reflects the balance
of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for May, Shelly Aubuchon made the
motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for May, the Library had 91 new cards during
the month. Noting that 66 cards were registered with the Wheatland School students. And the highest circulation for the year
with 4024 items circulated.
Under President’s Report
there was none.
Under Library Association Report-Library Association
Treasurer Stacy Coulsell noted that the Association had met previously in regard to the repair of the Library’s air
Under Friends there was none.
Under Old Business-Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell had visited Blade Signs in Bolivar, MO to purchase
a new outdoor-Hickory County Library sign.
Under New Business-
Judy Baker moved to declare the following items as salvaged material and to be disposed of
1 Aladdin Rainbow Magnifier
1 Dell Inspiron
2 HP Touch Smart 300 All in One computers
2 Gateway FDP 1520 15 inch monitors
10 computer keyboards (4 Logitech, 2 Gateway, 2 Dell 2 Microsoft)
Shelly Aubuchon seconded, and the motion carried, unanimously.
was also noted that the Library Board Terms for Board Members Sharon Barrett and Hal Geltmacher would expire in 2017.
Both members will re-apply for the Library Board.
Hearing no public
comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:55am.
