Monday, April 11, 2016
The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held April 11, 2016 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
Vice-President Sharon Barrett called the meeting to order at 10:00am.
Members present were:

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher. President Hal Geltmacher and Treasurer Gerda Fitts were absent.
After reviewing the agenda Sharon Barrett moved to accept the agenda as presented. Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried.
The minutes from the March meeting were reviewed. Sharon Barrett moved to accept the minutes as read. Eva Cooper seconded, and the motion carried.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that Reading Has Gone to the Dogs continued each Saturday. Coulsell also noted that the Library had been closed on Saturday, April 9, 2016 due to the passing of staff member Mary Benedict’s husband, Terry Benedict. Coulsell noted that the Preschool Story Hour and Head Start Story Hour continued. Administrator Coulsell reported that she had submitted a Technology Grant Ladder application to the State Library, she also noted that this was no longer required by the State Library but considered this still a good practice to continue. Currently the plan was under review by Jennifer France of the State Library. Administrator Coulsell reported that she had submitted the annual payment to the USDA on behalf of the Library Association. Coulsell has completed planning programming for the summer and fall for both the adult and children. This information can be found on both the Library’s Facebook page and website. Coulsell also noted that there were two new sessions of computer classes underway, one being the Basic Computer class and the other being an Excel Spreadsheet class, both were taught by Bill Arnold.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for March. The balance as of
April 11, 2016 was $146,390.78 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for February Sharon Barrett made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The Library’s Circulation Report for March was presented by Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell. The Library had 16 new Library cards. The total circulation for the month of March was 3978.
Under President’s Report-There was none as President Hal Geltmacher was absent.
Under Association Report-Library Association President Sharon Barrett had nothing to report.
Under Friends-Administrator Coulsell reported that the Friends had a great turnout at the April 2, 2016 Fundraiser Luncheon.
Under Old Business—The Library will be closed on Saturday, April 30th for Carpet Cleaning.
Under New Business- Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented the First Quarter 2016 Fiscal Balance Report, after reviewing the report, Sharon Barrett moved to accept the report as presented, Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried.
Also under New Business, Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented the Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2015, this report is submitted to the State Auditor’s office of Missouri, after reviewing the report Sharon Barrett moved to accept the report as presented, Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried.
And finally under New Business, Administrator Coulsell noted that long-time Library Clerk Alice Munns would be retiring from the Library at the end of April.
Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:40am.
The next meeting is to be May 9, 2016 at 10:00am
