The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held August 19, 2017 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:01am.
Members present were:

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Trustee Shelly Aubuchon was absent. Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
After reviewing the agenda Sharon Barrett moved to accept the agenda as presented. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried.
After reviewing the minutes, Sharon Barrett moved to accept the minutes as read, Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion carried, unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave her Administrator’s Report— Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell reported that Computer Instructor Bill Arnold had begun a series of Tablet Classes as an outreach service held at the McCarty Senior Center in Wheatland, he was now additionally offering the class beginning, August 24, 2017 at the Hickory Estates Senior Housing. The classes features the Osmo system with letter tiles, tangrams, and the masterpiece, the goal was to reach the young and the young at heart as a form of physical therapy. The Library had hosted its final summer program, Wings of Love, this is an exotic bird show. This program was very well attended. To date all the programs held have been well attended. Continued “Lightning Labs” with the new iPads will continue later this week, August 24th at 5:30pm, these programs will feature Ozobots a computer color based robotic system and the Osmo system. Coulsell is also noted that the first of a quarterly Adult Guided painting classes, with instructor Gwen Lind will begin Tuesday August 22nd. Coulsell reported that the Library had received the first portion of the Technology Ladder Grant for the new 13 unit computer lab to be used for adult and homeschool computer classes.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for August. The balance as of August 19, 2017, was $83,189.56 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for August, Sharon Barrett made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for August, the Library had 20 new cards during the month. Highest circulation recorded in audio books and e-books.
Under President’s Report there was none.
Under Library Association Report-Library Association Treasurer Stacy Coulsell noted that the Annual Corporation Filing Fee for the Library Association had been submitted, and that the new air conditioning system had been installed.
Under Friends it was reported that the Friends would host their annual book sale the second week of October 2017.
Under Old Business the Library’s Sign was completed and in place. Administrator Coulsell will follow-up with MODOT to learn status of directional signage for Library within city limits.
Under New Business, Sharon Barrett moved to declare 11 Compaq Presario CQ62-41062-410US Notebook as salvaged, setting a sale price to the public of $75.00. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried.
Also under New Business, Gerda Fitts moved to set the annual Tax Rate meeting to be September 11, 2017, just prior to the Regular meeting and to also reschedule the regular monthly meeting to the same date. Sharon Barrett seconded, and the motion carried.
Having no further business and hearing no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:55am.
