The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held December 14, 2015 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:10am.

Members present were:

President, Hal Geltmacher

Vice-President, Sharon Barrett

Treasurer, Gerda Fitts

Secretary Judy Baker

Trustee, Eva Cooper

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

After reviewing the agenda Sharon Barrett moved to accept the agenda as presented. Eva Cooper seconded and the motion carried.

The minutes from the November meeting were reviewed. Eva Cooper moved to accept the minutes as presented. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that Reading Has Gone to the Dogs was on hiatus until after the first of the year. Coulsell noted that the Preschool Story Hour and Head Start Story Hour continued. Administrator Coulsell reported that the Library would host Santa on Saturday, December 19th from 9:00am to 11:00am, she noted that prizes will be given away. Coulsell noted that the Equalization funds for 2015 were nearly expended. Coulsell will be attending the December Hermitage City Council meeting in regard to new and additional directional signage for the Library to city street signs.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for November. The balance as of
December 14, 2015 was $ 86,861.96 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for November, Sharon Barrett made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

The Library’s Circulation Report for November was presented by Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell. The Library had 27 new Library cards. The total circulation for the month of November was 3697.

Under President’s Report-Library Board President Hal Geltmacher discussed the need of additional personnel with the look to the future of creating an administrative assistant position.

Under Library Association-Library Association President Sharon Barrett reported that the Association had met earlier in the day and had set the lease payment for the Library for 2016.

Under Friends-The Friends were conducting their annual Christmas meeting and Christmas party later in the day.

Under Old Business—The Board reviewed the Proposed Budget for 2016.

Under New Business—The Board reviewed the pay scale for all employees. Gerda Fitts moved to approve a 3% pay increase to all staff and an increase in salary to Library Adminstrator Stacy Coulsell. Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Sharon Barrett moved to accept the 2016 Proposed Budget for the Hickory County Library. Eva Cooper seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Also Under New Business- Coulsell requested that the Library be closed December 24 through December 26th and at Noon on December 31st.

Having no further business and hearing no public comment the meeting adjourned at 11:15am

The next meeting is to be January 11, 2016 at 10:00am
