The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held February 9, 2015 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:00am.

Members present were:

President, Hal Geltmacher

Treasurer, Gerda Fitts

Trustee, Eva Cooper

Secretary, Judy Baker

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Also in attendance was Assistant Manager Tina Davis, attendance was taken via the expense voucher. Library Board Vice-President Sharon Barrett was absent.

The minutes from the January meeting were reviewed, after reviewing the minutes Gerda Fitts moved to accept the minutes as presented, Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that the story hours with the preschool and head start groups were ongoing. Administrator Coulsell noted that the “Reading has Gone to the Dogs” continued, with a good turnout each week. Coulsell also reported that the first session of genealogy classes were slated to begin on February 12th beginning at 4:00pm. Coulsell also noted that the Historical Society would be utilizing the Library’s community room for meetings during the month of February.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for January. The balance as of February 9, 2015 was $147,105.24. This reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for January, Judy Baker made the motion to accept the report as presented, Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

The Library’s Circulation Report for December was presented by Assistant Manager Tina Davis. The Library had 21 new Library cards and the total circulation for the month of January was 4164.

Under President’s Report-Library Board President Hal Geltmacher had nothing to report.

Under Library Association—Library Association Treasurer Stacy Coulsell reported that the Association had begun working on the annual fiscal year report for the USDA.

Under Friends-It was noted that the Friends were hosting their regular February meeting at 10:00am.

Under Old Business- Library Administrator discussed potential grant opportunities available to the Library in 2015. Coulsell has completed both of the grant applications that she had been working on and they have been submitted. Coulsell also reported that the parking lot repair had been completed by Gary Pearson.

Under New Business-Administrator Coulsell requested that the Library be closed on February 23rd for a staff training day. Gerda Fitts made the motion to approve the request of closing on February 23, 2015. Judy Baker seconded, all in favor and the motion carried.

Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:55am.

The next meeting is to be March 9, 2015 at 10:00am
