Monday, February 20, 2017
The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held February 20, 2017 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:00am. Treasurer Gerda Fitts and Secretary Judy Baker were absent.

After reviewing the agenda Sharon Barrett moved to accept the agenda as presented. Shelly Aubuchon seconded and the motion carried.
The minutes from the January meeting were reviewed. Shelly Aubuchon moved to accept the minutes as presented, Sharon Barrett seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that both the Head Start and the Preschool story hours had continued. Administrator Coulsell reported that Bill Arnold had completed the Tablet Class, he will soon be starting a Power Point class. Coulsell has applied for a Technology Ladder Grant through the Missouri State Library and will know later in the spring if they are to receive it. The Final Report for the iPad Grant is due in March. Coulsell has booked all of the summer and fall special programing for the Library. Coulsell reported that she has received notice that State Aid and Missouri State Athlete and Entertainment Funding may be cut for Fiscal Year 2017. The Library will be represented at the opening of this year’s Hickory County Farmers Market, and this year will have a children’s craft project once per month at the Market, with Library volunteer Jamie Hennessy.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for January. The balance as of
February 20, 2017 was $159,551.95 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. Coulsell noted this included tax income for January. After hearing the Financial Reports for January, Sharon Barrett made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Shelly Aubuchon seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for January, the Library had 27 new cards, a total of 3605 Total Items circulated. And an All-Time high check out of 358 e-books checked out and downloaded. The Library was also closed early two days due to weather and one day for the NewYear’s Holiday.
Under President’s Report there was none.
Under Library Association Report-Library Association Treasurer Stacy Coulsell noted that she would be finalizing the Annual Library Association Report due into the USDA
Under Friends-it was noted the Friends are planning to have a table at the local Dollar General selling books later in the Spring.
Under Old Business- Administrator Coulsell reported that new fixtures and computers had been ordered for the Children’s Area and were to be assembled later in the week and there will be a public dedication made later in March
Under New Business-Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell reported that the Library Parking Lot sign had been taken for repair. Coulsell also reported that MODOT has been contacted for placement of street directional signage to be added to county and city signs. Coulsell presented the idea of having an Adult Guided Painting class, with an area Art Instructor.
Hearing no public comment and having no further business the meeting adjourned at 11:00am.
