The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held January 12, 2015 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:04am.

Members present were:

President, Hal Geltmacher

Vice-President, Sharon Barrett

Treasurer, Gerda Fitts

Secretary, Judy Baker

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Also in attendance was Assistant Manager Tina Davis, attendance was taken via the expense voucher. Library Board Trustee Eva Cooper was absent.

The minutes from the December meeting were reviewed, after reviewing the minutes Sharon Barrett moved to accept the minutes as presented, Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that the story hours with the preschool and head start groups were ongoing. Administrator Coulsell noted that the “Reading has Gone to the Dogs” had resumed and the first session was on January 10, 2014. Coulsell also reported that the first session of adult computer classes were slated to begin on January 13th. Coulsell also noted that both the Historical Society and the Hickory County Health department would be utilizing the Library’s community room for meetings during the month of January.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for December. The balance as of January 12, 2015was $48,418.39. This reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for December, Sharon Barrett made the motion to accept the report as presented, Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

The Library’s Circulation Report for December was presented by Assistant Manager Tina Davis. The Library had 13 new Library cards and the total circulation for the month of December was 3809. It was noted that the e-book category had the highest circulation for the year with 291 check-outs.

Under President’s Report-Library Board President Hal Geltmacher had nothing to report.

Under Library Association-Association Barrett reported that the Association had received payment from the insurance company for the parking lot damage.

Under Friends-None

Under Old Business- Library Administrator discussed potential grant opportunities available to the Library in 2015. Coulsell is working with the Missouri State Historical Society on a digital imaging grant made possible by the Missouri State Library.

Under New Business-Administrator Coulsell presented the Board with the Fourth Quarter 2014 Quarterly Balance Report. After reviewing the report Sharon Barrett moved to accept the quarterly report as presented, Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Also Under New Business—the Board discussed building improvement projects such as lighting upgrades and heating improvements.

Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:55am.

The next meeting is to be February 9, 2015 at 10:00am
