The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held January 11, 2016 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:10am.

Members present were:

President, Hal Geltmacher

Treasurer, Gerda Fitts

Secretary Judy Baker

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher. Vice-President Sharon Barrett and Trustee Eva Cooper were absent.

After reviewing the agenda Hal Geltmacher moved to accept the agenda as presented. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried.

The minutes from the December meeting were reviewed. Hal Geltmacher moved to accept the minutes as read. Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion carried.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that Reading Has Gone to the Dogs would return on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:00am. Coulsell noted that the Preschool Story Hour and Head Start Story Hour would continue in 2016. Coulsell reported that she had attended the December Hermitage City Council meeting in regard to new and additional directional signage and received approval from the Council for the Library pursue directional signage to city street signs.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for December. The balance as of
January 11, 2016 was $66,201.53 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for December Hal Geltmacher made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

The Library’s Circulation Report for December was presented by Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell. The Library had 14 new Library cards. The total circulation for the month of December was 3533. The total circulation of items for the year of 2015 was 46,825.

Under President’s Report-Library Board President Hal Geltmacher had nothing to report.

Under Library Association-Library Association Treasurer Stacy Coulsell reported that the annual report to the USDA was due by February 29, 2016.

Under Friends-It was noted that the program for the Friends of the Library’s February meeting would be on authors Anne and Tony Hillerman.

Under Old Business—Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell reported that the Digital Newspaper project featuring newspapers from Hermitage dated 1884-1964 were now available through the Library website, or through the Missouri State Historical Society website.

Also Under Old Business—Library Administrator Coulsell would be advertising for a part-time employee with the opportunity for advancement beginning in February.

Under New Business—Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented the Board with the Fourth Quarter Financial Report. After reviewing the report, Judy Baker moved to accept the report as presented. Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:50am.

The next meeting is to be February 8, 2016 at 10:00am
