The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held July 18, 2016 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:00am.

Members present were:

Vice-President Sharon Barrett

Treasurer, Gerda Fitts

Secretary Judy Baker

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher. Trustee Eva Cooper was absent.

After reviewing the agenda Sharon Barrett moved to accept the agenda as presented. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried.

The minutes from the June meeting were reviewed. Sharon Barrett moved to approve the minutes. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that Reading Has Gone to the Dogs continued each Saturday. Coulsell noted that the last special summer program of the season would be July 19th at 6:00pm featuring Parasol Puppets of Rolla. It was noted that all the programs had been very well attended, noting that the Magician and Ventriloquist program had over fifty in attendance. It was noted that the Library will be setting up a booth at the Farmers Markt on August 12th that is National Farmers Market week and the focus for the library would be on children returning to school, the Library will have some potentially giveaway opportunities.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for June. The balance as of
July 18, 2016 was $105,991.25 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for June, Judy Baker made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

The Library’s Circulation Report for June was presented by Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell. The Library had 28 new Library cards. The total circulation for the month of June was 4121. Noting a record high in Children’s Fiction of 548.

Under President’s Report-there was none.

Under Friends-It was noted that the Friends of the Library have begun a childhood literacy project partnering with the Library, the Hickory County Health Department and Hickory County C.A.R.E.S providing new and gently used books to each organization to be distributed for free to the children of Hickory County.

Under the Library Association-Association Sharon Barrett reported that the Library Association would be seeking bids for roof repair. She also noted that the Association would be remitting the Annual Corporation filing to the Secretary of State in August.

Under Old Business—Coulsell reported that she had submitted the Mini-Technology grant for five iPads and was awaiting approval.

Under New Business—It was noted that Judy Baker had been reappointed a four year term to the Library Board.

Having no further business and hearing no public comment. The meeting adjourned at 10:50am.

The next meeting will be August 8, 2016 at 10:00am
