The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held June 13, 2016 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:00am.

Members present were:

Treasurer, Gerda Fitts

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher. Trustee Eva Cooper was absent.

After reviewing the agenda Sharon Barrett moved to accept the agenda as presented. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried.

The minutes from the May meeting were reviewed. Gerda Fitts moved to approve the minutes as read, Sharon Barrett seconded, and the motion carried.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that Reading Has Gone to the Dogs continued each Saturday, but had a short break the past weekend. Coulsell noted that the first special summer program of the season would be Thursday, June 16th at 6:00pm featuring Professor Farquar and Polecat Annie. Coulsell noted that the Library would have a recurring presence at the Hickory County Farmers Market, the Library will have a booth the third Friday of each month, this is an opportunity for the public to register for a library card and to further promote the library.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for May. The balance as of
May 9, 2016 was $113,709.91 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for May, Judy Baker made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Sharon Barrett seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. Coulsell noted that the Library had received memorial donations in honor of Gerry Freeman. She has decided to purchase a special collection of Laura Ingalls Wilder books to be book-plated in honor of her passing.

The Library’s Circulation Report for May was presented by Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell. The Library had 27 new Library cards. The total circulation for the month of May was 3706. Noting the highest circulation of the year in Children’s Fiction.

Under President’s Report-there was none.

Under Friends-There was none.

Under Old Business-Administrator Coulsell reported that the completed Mini-Technology Grant for new iPads was due July 1, 2016.

Under New Business—Coulsell has put in a request for increased bandwidth, this will take effect during the month of July. It was also noted that this was a state wide opportunity for Missouri Libraries. Coulsell presented more information on the migration to the Evergreen library circulation systems, this is a prospective project that should take effect within the next year.

It was also noted that Judy Baker’s Library Board appointment would end on June 30, 2016. Baker has reapplied for a seat on the Library Board.

Hearing no public comment and having no further business the meeting adjourned at 10:45am

The next meeting will be on July 18, 2016 at 10:00am. This will be rescheduled from its regular date due to staff absence.
