The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held March 9, 2015 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:01am.

Members present were:

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Absent was Assistant Manager Tina Davis, attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

The minutes from the February meeting were reviewed, after reviewing the minutes Eva Cooper moved to accept the minutes as presented, Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that the story hours with the preschool and head start groups were ongoing. Administrator Coulsell noted that the “Reading has Gone to the Dogs” continued, with a good turnout each week. Coulsell reported that she had begun to plan for the Library’s summer programming. The exotic bird show will return, a magician and Ventriloquist Kevin Horner are scheduled for the summer to date. Coulsell also noted that the Historical Society would be utilizing the Library’s community room for a meeting during the month of March. Coulsell noted that the Library had been closed early for a few days in February and closed all day, for two days due to staff training and weather.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for February. The balance as of March 9, 2015 was $140,395.75. This reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for February, Sharon Barrett made the motion to accept the report as presented, Eva Cooper seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

The Library’s Circulation Report for February was presented by Administrator Stacy
Coulsell. The Library had 14 new Library cards and the total circulation for the month of February was 3557.

Under President’s Report-Library Board President Hal Geltmacher had nothing to report.

Under Library Association—Library Association Treasurer Stacy Coulsell reported that the Association had completed the annual fiscal year report for the USDA.

Under Friend-Coulsell noted that the April Friends of the Library program would feature local author, Sandy Sprott, author of the Little Kicker series.

Under Old Business- Coulsell reported that both grant applications for the spring had been submitted. She will be ordered two new touch-screen computers during the month of March to comply with the Technology Grant. This grant was the Technology Mini-Grant made possible by the State Library through LSTA funds. The second grant, Coulsell is waiting to get confirmation will be a Digitization grant to make eighty years of Hickory County newspapers available online, this grant is also through the Missouri State Library Coulsell also reported that the parking lot repair was nearly completed. The repaired area will become a third handicapped space. Repair will complete as weather allows.

Under New Business-the Board discussed potential Equalization funds for fiscal year 2015, if any. If these funds are released, the Board discussed potential projects to utilized as funds allow.

Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:45am.

The next meeting is to be April 13, 2015 at 10:00am
