May 2013 Regular Monthly Meeting

The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held May 13, 2013 at 9:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 9:00am.

Members present were:

President, Hal Geltmacher

Vice-President, Sharon Barrett

Treasurer Gerda Fitts

Secretary, Judy Baker

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Trustees Eva Cooper was absent. The attendance was taken via the expense voucher. Also in attendance was Library Assistant Manager Tina Davis.

The minutes from the April meeting were reviewed, after reviewing the meeting minutes, Gerda Fitts made a motion to approve as presented, Sharon Barrett seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Coulsell reported that the story hours with the Preschool and Head Start groups continued. Administrator Coulsell noted that she had booked all of the Library’s summer programs for children. She is looking into planning some author speaking engagements for adult programming.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for April. The balance as of May 13, 2013 was $136,706.47 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for April, Sharon Barrett made the motion to accept the report as presented. Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

The Library’s Circulation Report was presented by Library Assistant Manager Tina Davis for April. There were 25 new cards issued with a Total Circulation for April of 3949.

Under President’s Report there was none.

Under Association Report-Association Treasurer Stacy Coulsell gave an update on the Association Balance and noted that both the annual insurance and annual USDA payment had been made.

Under Old Business, the Board discussed possible uses for Equalization funds during 2013, the Board discussed purchasing handicapped accessible computer accessories and repairing the parking lot. Library Administrator Coulsell reported that Jones Paving had been contacted to repair and seal the parking lot. She also noted that new equipment would be purchased this month. Administrator Coulsell also presented the board with information on digitizing the Library’s microfilm collection.

Under New Business, It was noted that Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell is representing the community as Chairman of the Hickory County Community Improvement Coalition. It was also noted that the Library would be closed for Memorial Day.

Having no further business and hearing no public comment, the meeting adjourned at 9:49am.

The next meeting is to be June 10, 2013 at 9:00am
