OF THE HICKORY COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held May 9, 2016 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:06am.
Members present were:
President, Hal Geltmacher
Treasurer, Gerda Fitts
Secretary Judy Baker
Trustee, Eva Cooper
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Attendance was taken via the expense voucher. Vice-President Sharon Barrett was absent.
After reviewing the agenda Judy Baker moved to accept the agenda as presented. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried.
The minutes from the April meeting were reviewed. After noting one correction to be made, Gerda Fitts moved to approve the minutes as read, Eva Cooper seconded, and the motion carried.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that Reading Has Gone to the Dogs continued each Saturday. Coulsell also noted that the Library had been closed on Saturday, April 30, 2016 due to carpet cleaning. Coulsell noted that the Preschool Story Hour and Head Start Story Hour continued. Administrator Coulsell reported that she had submitted a Technology Mini-Grant application to the State Library. Coulsell noted that she had received a commendation from the Technology Plan that she had sent in for review. Coulsell reported that the library had been gifted a Memorial Bench in honor of past patron, Judy Rothrock, the bench was now on display in the Lowman Rose Garden.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for March. The balance as of
May 9, 2016 was $124,537.35 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for April, Judy Baker made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Eva Cooper seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The Library’s Circulation Report for April was presented by Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell. The Library had 16 new Library cards. The total circulation for the month of April was 3271. It was noted that Administrator Coulsell had set up a booth at the Farmers Market Expo on April 29th, and had five new library card registrations.
President’s Report-President Hal Geltmacher had nothing to report.
Library Association-Library Association Treasurer Reported on behalf of absent President Sharon Barrett, that the annual USDA payment had been made by the Association. And that the Library had made its annual lease payment. The Friends of the Library had donated to the Library Association and the annual liability insurance payment had been made to Mike Keith Insurance.
Under Friends-it was noted that the Annual Friends of the Library dinner had been successful and had reflected a nice turnout.
Under Old Business-Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell will be applying for a Technology Mini-Grant in July.
Under New Business-Coulsell will be placing a request with MOREnet in July to increase the Library’s bandwidth speed.
Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:45am.
The next meeting will be June 13, 2016 at 10:00am
