The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held October 14, 2013 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:10am.
Members present were:
President, Hal Geltmacher
Vice-President, Sharon Barrett
Treasurer Gerda Fitts
Trustee, Eva Cooper
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Secretary Judy Baker was absent. Attendance was taken via the travel expense voucher.
Also in attendance was Library Assistant Manager Tina Davis.
The minutes from the September meeting were reviewed, after reviewing the minutes, Gerda Fitts moved to accept the minutes as presented, Sharon Barrett seconded. All in favor and the motion carried unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report for September. She reported that she was looking to have two Missouri authors programs before the end of the year. She noted that both Preschool and Head Start story hours continued. Coulsell also reported that the Library had received notice from the State Auditor’s office that the Library’s tax rate was in compliance with the law.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for September. The balance as of October 14 was $51,727.23 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for September, Sharon Barrett made the motion to accept the report as presented. Gerda Fitts seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The Library’s Circulation Report was presented by Tina Davis for September. There were 22 new cards issued with a Total Circulation for September of 3747. Under President’s Report there was nothing to report.
Under Association Report there was nothing report.
Under Friends—Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell reported that the Friends of the Library would be conducting their annual book sale from October 16th through October 19th
Under Old Business—Administrator Stacy Coulsell reported on the Equalization funds. She noted that the Library had renewed the annual subscription to Ancestry Plus. This is an online genealogy program that is available to incoming public.
Under New Business–Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented the Third Quarter Fiscal Balance Report. Coulsell presented the Board with a 2014 Preliminary Budget. The Board discussed expanding services provided at the library in the future. Administrator Coulsell requested that the Library extend the hours on Halloween, October 31, 2013 to 9pm for handing out candy. Sharon Barrett moved to extend the hours on October 31, 2013. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Hearing no public comment and having no further business the meeting adjourned at 10:55am.
The next meeting is to be November 11, 2013 at 10:00am
