The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held October 12, 2015 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 99 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:07am.

Members present were:

President, Hal Geltmacher

Vice-President, Sharon Barrett

Treasurer, Gerda Fitts

Trustee, Eva Cooper

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Secretary Judy Baker was absent. Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

After reviewing the agenda Sharon Barrett moved to accept the agenda as presented. Eva Cooper seconded and the motion carried.

The minutes from the September annual meeting were reviewed, after reviewing the minutes Eva Cooper moved to accept the minutes as presented, Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried. The minutes from the September regular meeting were reviewed. Gerda Fitts moved to accept the minutes as presented. Eva Cooper seconded and the motion carried.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave the Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that Reading Has Gone to the Dogs continued. Coulsell noted that the Preschool Story Hour continued. She would be attending the Head Start Open House on October 14th celebrating 50 years of Head Start. Administrator Coulsell noted that she was working on the Statistical Report for the State Library, this is a report that compiles all circulation information, library resource and financial information. This report is the basis for the Library’s state aid disbursements.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for August. The balance as of
September 14, 2015 $82177.73 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for September, Sharon Barrett made the motion to accept the report as presented with one correction noted, Eva Cooper seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

The Library’s Circulation Report for August was presented by Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell. The Library had 18 new Library cards. The total circulation for the month of September was 3821.

Under President’s Report-Library Board President Hal Geltmacher had nothing to report.

Under Association Report-Association President Sharon Barrett had nothing to report.

Under Friends-It was noted that the Friends bi-annual book sale would be held October 14th thru October 17th.

Under Old Business– Coulsell reported that the water meter had been installed and were waiting on a local contractor to finish the waterline placement.

Also Under Old Business, Library Administrator Coulsell reminded the Board that the Open House for the Digitization Grant for the Hickory County Newspapers dating 1884-1964 would be held October 22nd at 1:00pm and this event was open to the public.

Under New Business-Administrator Coulsell presented the Library Board with a Preliminary Budget and a Year to Date Financial Report. This item was tabled until more information was available.

Having no further business and hearing no public comment the meeting adjourned at 10:57am.

The next meeting is to be November 9, 2015 at 10:00am
