February 2018 Regular Meeting

Monday, February 19, 2018
The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held February 19, 2018 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:00am.
Members present were:
President, Hal Geltmacher
Secretary, Judy Baker
Trustee, Shelly Aubuchon
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Vice-President, Sharon Barrett and Treasurer Gerda Fitts were absent. Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
After reviewing the agenda Shelly Aubuchon moved to approve the agenda as read. Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave her monthly report. She reported that Story Hours with both the Preschool and the area Head Start continued. It was noted that the Children’s Craft Day was held on February 10, 2018 with volunteer Jamie Hennessy facilitating that event. Bill Arnold will host a series of Beginner Microsoft Power Point classes on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 4:00pm. Coulsell reported that Author Heather Heckadon’s book signing event had been postponed until April 9, 2018 due to the weather. Coulsell also noted that another author, Ralph “Little Eagle” Williston had a speaking engagement at the Library on Friday, February 16th, and he will return in the fall, he and local artist/illustrator Gwen Lind had partnered in the making of Children’s story book, Catch a Pony. Coulsell reported that the 2018 Equalization funds from the State Library had been spent, the Library had purchased five Dell All-in-One 21 inch monitor desktop computers for the Library. Administrator Coulsell also presented a project of the possibility of heirloom seed sharing, this would be a project through the SeedSaver.org project with the help of local volunteers. Coulsell is going to research this project further before formalizing the project.
Under President’s report there was none.
Under Friends of the Library-it was noted that the Friends had rescheduled their meeting for the same day, February 19th and would host a Fundraiser dinner on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm, this dinner will help to pay for the cost of the Library’s insurance.
Under Old Business-the Library has received an unofficial update on Highway signage, a representative from MoDOT had contacted the City of Hermitage officials to go ahead with sign purchase.
Under New Business, Shelly Aubuchon moved to declare six reception chair and one table as salvaged material. Judy Baker seconded, motion carried.
Also under New Business, Shelly Aubuchon moved to declare three HP 23 Inch All-in-One computers that were now six years old as salvaged material, Judy Baker seconded, motion carried.
Having no further business and hearing no public comment the meeting adjourned at 11:00am.
The next meeting will be March 19, 2018 at 10:00am
