Monday, September 21, 2020
The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held September 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
Members present were:
President, Shelly Aubuchon
Treasurer, Brenda Charles
Secretary, Judy Baker
Trustee, Hal Geltmacher via telephone
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Vice-President Traci Brown was absent. Attendance was taken via the expense voucher. President Shelly Aubuchon called the meeting to order at 11:10 a.m.
After reviewing the agenda, Brenda Charles moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Hal Geltmacher seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Brenda Charles moved to accept the minutes of the Annual Library Board Meeting. Judy Baker seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
Hal Geltmacher moved to accept the minutes of the Regular August Library Board Meeting. Brenda Charles seconded and the motion carried.
Library Administrator Coulsell gave her Administrator’s Report. Coulsell reported that the Story Hours for the 2020-21 school year had resumed; both story hours are being held on site at the Hermitage R-IV school for Preschool and on the campus for the Head Start group as well. Coulsell reported that two of the five Little Sharing Libraries had arrived. The first will be placed on site on the lawn of the Hickory County Library for use when the Library is closed.
Coulsell continues to attend webinars put on by the Missouri State Library. Administrator Coulsell reported that the Library will host Trick or Treaters for Halloween; each child will receive a premade treat bag. She is in the planning stages of a Santa event. Coulsell noted that the Zerelda James Living History program had been well attended. Administrator Coulsell also reported that she is beginning to outline the budget for Fiscal Year 2021.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for September. The balance as of September 21, 2020 was $66,586.53. This reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. Judy Baker moved to accept the Financial Reports for August as presented; Hal Geltmacher seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for August. The Library had 14 new cards during the month of August, with a Total Circulation of 4,136. She noted a yea- high circulation in Adult Fiction of 1403 items circulated.
Under President’s Report - There was none.
Under Library Association report - Roof Replacement is slated for November,2020.
Under Friends -It was noted that the Friends will tentatively host their annual book sale in October.This may be an outdoor sale.
Under Old Business - Library Tax Rate has been approved by the Hickory County Clerk of Commission and the Missouri State Auditor’s office.
Under New Business - The Library has a new volunteer, Janette Ortiz.
Judy Baker moved to adjourn the meeting at 11:45 a.m. Brenda Charles seconded and motion carried.
The next meeting will be October 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
