Monday, March 20, 2023

The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held March 20, 2023 at 10 am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins called the meeting order at 10:08 am.

Members present were:
Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins
Secretary, Eleanora Smith
Trustee, Judy Baker
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
President, Shelly Aubuchon and Treasurer, Brenda Charles were absent.
Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

Judy Baker moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Eleanora Smith seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Eleanora Smith moved to accept the minutes from the February Regular Meeting as read, Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave her monthly Administrator’s Report. She reported that Story Hour with Hermitage Preschool continued. Coulsell reported that the Library had hosted Celtic Guitarist, Jerry Barlow, for a free concert on March 16, 2023. Coulsell reported she is investigating programming for this year. Folk Singers, Andy & Judy will return on June 29, 2023. Ventriloquist Kevin Horner, will perform on July 13, 2023. Coulsell noted that the Friends of the Library group are considering a Reading Buddies program. Coulsell noted that the Library will have a presence at the Farmers Market offering crafts and giveaways.

The balance as of March 20, 2023 was $166,213.20. Eleanora Smith moved to accept the Financial Reports for February as presented, Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for February and the Library had 15 new cards, with a Total Circulation of 4029 in January.

Under President’s Report - There was none, as Library Board President Shelly Aubuchon was absent.

Under Library Association Report -  It was noted that the Annual USDA Report was due February 28, 2023 and had been submitted.

Under Friends of the Library - It was noted that the Friends would host a Spring Book Sale from April 10 - 15, 2023.

Under Old Business - It was noted that the Library’s new copier would be installed on March 22, 2023.

Under New Business - Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell reported that the Annual Fiscal Report was due to the State Auditor’s Office on June 30, 2023.

Having no further business and hearing no public comment, Eleanora Smith moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:47am. Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

The next meeting will be April 17, 2023 at 10 am
