The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held July 21, 2025 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Genealogy Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President, Shelly Aubuchon called the meeting order at 10:00am

Members present were:

President, Shelly Aubuchon

Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins

Treasurer, Brenda Charles

Trustee, Kevin Boling

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Secretary Eleanora Smith was absent.   Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

Brenda Charles moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Ernest Jenkins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the minutes from the June Regular Meeting as read; Kevin Boling seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave her monthly Administrator’s Report. She reported that she continued to read to the Hermitage Summer School classes. Coulsell reported that the Library has a special program scheduled in the coming weeks: Ventriloquist Doug Mickan will return in August. Coulsell reported that the Storm Drain in front of the Library had been maintenanced, special thanks to Central Hickory Fire Department Pomme Plumbing and the Hermitage City Maintenance team for their attention to detail.  Administrator Coulsell reported that the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution had a program on July 12th and it had been well attended.

The balance as of July 21, 2025 was $112, 037.46. Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the Financial Reports for June as presented. Kevin Boling seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for June, and the Library had 25 new cards with a Total Circulation of 2982.  Noting year highs in Adult Fiction and Audiobook checkouts.

Under President’s Report - President Shelly Aubuchon extended commendations to Administrator Coulsell and the Library staff for continued engaging activities at the Library. President Aubuchon wanted to extend appreciation and a commendation to the Hickory County Master Gardeners for their work on the landscaping of the Library.  President Shelly Aubuchon also wanted to extend condolences to the family of former Assistant Director Leann Yoast family, she noted that Leann had been a frontrunner for the Library and had a vibrant and dynamic personality and would be missed terribly.

Under Library Association Report - It was noted that the Annual Corporate Registration Filing is due August 31, 2025.

Under Friends of the Library - It was noted that the Friends would host a Fall Book Sale the Week of October 13, 2025.

Under Old Business- It was noted that the Annual State Aid Application, County Commission Library Board Appointment and Internet Compliance forms were due to the State Library on July 31st.

Under New Business—Administrator Coulsell presented the Second Quarter Financial Report.  Brenda Charles moved to accept the report as presented.  Kevin Boling seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Also Under New Business it was noted that the Celebration of Life for Leann Yoast would be Saturday, August 2nd.

The next meeting will be March 20, 2023 at 10:00am.
