January 2020 Regular Meeting

Monday, January 13, 2020

The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held January 13, 2020 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:10am.

Members present were:

President Hal Geltmacher

Vice-President, Shelly Aubuchon

Trustee Traci Brown

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Secretary Judy Baker and Trustee Brenda Charles were absent.  Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

After reviewing the agenda, Traci Brown moved to accept the Agenda as presented; Shelly Aubuchon seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

After reviewing the minutes from the December Regular meeting Shelly Aubuchon moved to accept the minutes as read. Traci Brown seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented the Administrator’s Report. She reported that the Preschool Story Hour continued. Administrator Coulsell reported that she had discussed a Head Start story hour with new administration at the New Head Start facility. Crafts with Chef Jamie on Saturday, January 11, 2020 had been postponed due to the weather. Coulsell reported that the Library had taken in 148 pounds of food that were donated to the Hickory County C.A.R.E.S. Food Pantry. These items were collected in lieu of fines in December Coulsell reported that she is beginning to prepare end of year reports.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for December. The balance as of January 13, 2020 was $46888.82, which includes the December tax payment. This reflects the balance of both Library accounts. Traci Brown moved to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Shelly Aubuchon seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Shelly Aubuchon moved to accept the Fourth Quarter Balance Report as presented.  Traci Brown seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for November the Library had 13 new cards during the month with a Total Circulation of 3595. She noted that the Library had been closed for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, closed at Noon on December 31, and closed  December 16th for a snow day.

Under President’s Report - Hal Geltmacher discussed the possibility of employing an administrative assistant. This item was tabled.

Under Library Association - It was noted that the USDA Financial Report was due on February 28, 2020.

Under Friends of the Library - It was noted that the Friends have set the date for the Spring Book Sale for the week of April 13, 2020.

Under Old Business there was none.

Under New Business -  President Hal Geltmacher noted that Brenda Charles had been appointed to the Library Board to serve the remainder of Gerda Fitts’ Board term.

Traci Brown moved to remove Gerda Fitts from the Library’s checking account(s) held at OakStar Bank and to add Brenda Charles to the signature card. Shelly Aubuchon seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:15 am.

The next meeting is to be February 17, 2020 at 10:00am
