The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held on August 19, 2024 at 10:10 a.m. in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President, Shelly Aubuchon called the meeting to order at 10:10 am

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher with those present:

Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins

Treasurer, Brenda Charles

Secretary. Eleanora Smith

Trustee, Kevin Bolling

Library Administrator, Stacy Coulsell

Eleanora Smith moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Kevin Bolling seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the July minutes as read, Brenda Charles seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented her monthly Administrator’s Report.  Coulsell noted that the Library continues to be part of the McDonald’s McReader punch card program. A child who received 10 punches on their card for reading 10 books received a coupon for a free Happy Meal from participating McDonalds. Coulsell reported to the board that the summer school reading prog.ram has been finished and the preschool reading program should restart in October. The Library’s story hour continues on Tuesday. Coulsell reminded the board that the Civil War program is scheduled for September 26 at 6 pm. There is also a pipe player scheduled for September. The library will be weeding out the collection to assist the Friends of the Library with their upcoming book sale. The OCLC (interlibrary loan databases) are still in the process of updating the Hickory County Library’s catalog. Library Administrator Coulsell reported that a Little Sharing Library is still being planned to be placed at ALPS grocery store in Pittsburg.

 

The balance as of August 19, 2024 was $90,570.82. Eleanora Smith moved to accept the Financial Reports for July as presented, Ernest Jenkins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

 

Under the President’s Report, Shelly Aubuchon complimented Stacy Coulsell for the excellent job she does with the outreach programs and the staff for their friendly and professional assistance.

 

Under Friends of the Library – Their annual October book sale is scheduled for the week of October 14th. The raffle for the little fairy house is still on going

Under Old Business— The parking lot has been sealed. The Equalization monies will be put towards a new computer.

Under New Business- Brenda Charles made a motion to add Kevin Bolling’s signature on the checking account and Eleanora Smith seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Having no further business and hearing no public comment, Brenda Charles moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:45 am, and Eleanora Smith seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

The next meeting is to be September 16, 2024 at 10:00am.
