The purpose of this meeting was to set the Hickory County Library tax rate. A public hearing was held Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10:00 am, at which time citizens were able to speak about the property tax rates proposed by the Hickory County Library District a political subdivision. The tax rates shall be set to produce revenues for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2022 , which the budget shows to be required from the Property tax.  Each tax rate is determined by dividing the amount of revenue required by the current assessed valuation. The result is multiplied by 100 so the tax rate can be expressed in cents per $100.00 valuation.

Vice-President Ernest Jenkins moved to set the Hickory County Library District tax rate at 0.1292 and   Judy Baker moved to second the motion.  All in favor and the motion carried unanimously.

It was noted that this information, once completed by the Hickory County Clerk, will complete the Annual Pro Forma required by the State Auditor’s office,

Having no further business this meeting adjourned at 10:10 am.

Respectfully submitted,
