Monday, February 20, 2023
The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held February 20, 2023 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins called the meeting order at 10:05am
Members present were:
President, Shelly Aubuchon, via telephone
Treasurer, Brenda Charles
Secretary, Eleanora Smith
Trustee, Judy Baker
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Treasurer, Brenda Charles was absent. Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
Brenda Charles moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Ernest Jenkins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the minutes from the January Regular Meeting as read; Eleanora Smith seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave her monthly Administrator’s Report. She reported that the monthly Story Hour with the Hermitage Preschool continued. Coulsell reported that the Library has three special programs scheduled for the coming months: Jerry Barlow will return in March; Ventriloquist Kevin Horner will return in July; and she is scheduling a concert date with folk singers, Andy & Judy. Coulsell reported that the Library will be donating their old copier to the Whispering Willows Senior Dog Sanctuary, once a new copier is installed in March. Coulsell reported that the Friends of the Library are considering a Kids Crafting Table and Reading Buddy Program to coincide with the Annual Hickory County Farmers Market. Coulsell will be completing the annual Travelers Workman’s Compensation Payroll audit, due this month.
The balance as of February 20, 2023 was $183,187.66; this includes the January Tax Collection from the County. Eleanora Smith moved to accept the Financial Reports for December as presented. Ernest Jenkins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for January, and the Library had 14 new cards with a Total Circulation of 4291 in January.
Under President’s Report - President Shelly Aubuchon extended commendations to Administrator Coulsell and the Library staff for continued excellent service provided at the Library.
Under Library Association Report - It was noted that the Annual USDA Report is due February 28, 2023.
Under Friends of the Library - It was noted that the Friends would host a Spring Book Sale from April 10 – 15, 2023.
Under Old Business- It was noted that the 2023 Equalization had been received. Administrator Coulsell noted some potential uses for these funds in the 2023 Fiscal Year.
Under New Business - Administrator Coulsell reported that the Area 4H will continue to be a community partner, utilizing the Barrett Community Room as an extended classroom for their weekly meeting.
The next meeting will be March 20, 2023 at 10:00am.
