January 2019 Regular Monthly Meeting

Monday, January 14, 2019

The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library
Board was held January 14, 2018 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library
Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive,
Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order
at 10:10am.

Members present were:

President, Hal Geltmacher

Secretary, Judy Baker

Trustee, Shelly Aubuchon

Trustee, Traci Brown

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
Treasurer Gerda Fitts was absent.

After reviewing the agenda Shelly Aubuchon moved to accept the Agenda as presented, Traci Brown seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented her report. It was noted that the Preschool and Head Start Story Hours
continued.  Coulsell reported that she would be the Speaker/Reader during the Head Start Family Night held, January 29th.  Coulsell reported that Bill Arnold would resume computer and various other technology classes beginning in
February.  It was noted that the 2019 Fiscal Budget had been submitted to the Hickory County Clerk and State Library.  Coulsell is currently planning for 2019 summer programs for adults and children.
Some programming has already been arranged, Celtic Guitarist Jerry Barlow will return in March and an Art Exhibit is scheduled for a portion of August and September featuring Dave Carter, a Missouri Artist featured in the
Rural Missouri magazine, put out by Southwest Electric. The Benner Family has also made another gift of Board Games to the Library to further the Family Engagement project already in place. Coulsell also noted that she is looking into some possible upgrades within the Library’s computer systems. Coulsell reported that the Library would be closed on January 21, 2019 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for December. The balance as of January 14, 2019 was $43595.12. This reflects the balance of both the Library accounts and includes the December tax payment from the Hickory County Treasurer’s office. After hearing the Financial Reports for December, Judy Baker moved to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Shelly Aubuchon seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for December the Library had 16 new cards during the month with a Total Circulation of 4611.  Noting highest check-out on record for the e-book circulation.  Also noting the Library was closed all day December 24th & 25th, and at noon December 31st.

Under President’s Report-there was none.

Under Library Association- it was noted that the Association checking account needed to be updated.

Under Friends there was none.

Under Old Business-It was noted that Equalization for 2019 had been received.

Under New Business-The Fourth Quarter Balance report was presented.  Shelly Aubuchon moved to accept the Report as
presented, Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried unanimously.  Library Employee Trina Sanning sat in on the
meeting and was formally introduced to the Board.

The next meeting is to be February 18, 2019

Having no further business and hearing no public comment, the meeting adjourned at 11:01am.
