Monday, January 27, 2025
The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held on January 27, 2025 at
10:00 a.m. in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library,
18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins called the meeting to order at 10:00 am
Attendance was taken via the expense voucher with those present:

Library Administrator, Stacy Coulsell
Brenda Charles made a motion to accept the Agenda and Kevin Bolling seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Brenda Charles made a motion to accept the revised December minutes and Brenda Kevin Bolling seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented her monthly Administrator's Report. Coulsell notified the Board that at this time there is an expanded Buy a Bag of Books for a dollar sale going on. The preschool reading program continues. The December Candy Cane theme punch card went well with another participant winning a Barnes and Noble Gift card and a board game for obtaining 14 punches on their card. The "Grinch Stole Christmas" program with reindeer and mitten crafts was presented in December as well.
Plans are still being made for an art exhibit by Local artist Catherine Hash, a beginning crochet class by Jody Wheeler, a seed library is in the planning as well as a puzzle swap. Coulsell will be updating the payroll system, preparing the USDA and the State Auditor reports.
Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for December, the Library gave out 14 new cards with a Total Circulation of 2,694. It was noted that this was a down swing from previous reports and planning is underway on how to bring more patrons into the library.
The balance as of January 2025 was $185,575.35 Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the Financial Reports as presented, Kevin Bolling seconded, and the motion was carried unanimously.
In the President's Report, Shelly Aubuchon thanked Stacy Coulsell and the library staff for their continued efforts to bring patrons into the library. Under Friends of the Library-The Friends of the Library took 3rd place in 2024's Christmas parade and had a display at the Light Up The Lake event in December.
Under Old Business -It was noted that both Hal Gelmacher and Judy Baker were removed from the bank signature cards.
Under New Business - The board was again reminded to go to the bank and update their signatures on the bank signature cards. The Hickory County Library Fourth Quarter Balance
Report 2024 was presented. Brenda Charles made a motion to accept the report as presented, Kevin Bolling seconded, and the motion was carried unanimously.
The next meeting is to be on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 1 0:0Oam (February 17th is President's Day and the library will be closed to observe the holiday).
Having no further business and hearing no public comment, Brenda Charles moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:45 am, Eleanora Smith seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
