Monday, July 17, 2023

The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held July 17, 2023 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Shelly Aubuchon called the meeting to order at 10:00am

Members present were:

Library Administrator, Stacy Coulsell

President, Shelly Aubuchon

Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins

Secretary, Eleanora Smith

Trustee, Judy Baker

Treasurer, Brenda Charles was absent.   Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

After noting a correction to the date, Judy Baker moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Ernest Jenkins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the minutes from the June Regular Meeting as read, Eleanora Smith seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave her monthly Administrator’s Report.   Coulsell reported that this week will conclude the ongoing story hour with the Hermitage Summer School Students, and this year they had read The BFG by Roald Dahl, the participating student will each receive a copy of the book, and treat bags themed after the book.  Coulsell reported that the Library will host a Summer Reading Incentive program, each child, grades K-6 will receive a punch card, and one punch per visit will receive a prize.   Upon completing the activity the child will receive a grant prize. Administrator Coulsell reported that the Library had hosted returning entertainer, Ventriloquist Kevin Horner, this program was well attended.  Coulsell reported two additional programs for children had been scheduled with the StoneLion Puppet theater, hosting Starry, Starry Night on October 10th and ‘Twas on December 7th both programs at 6:00pm.  Coulsell reported that the adjacent street to the Library had been paved, making parking more convenient for visitors and staff.

The balance as of July 17, 2023 was $105,365.81.  Eleanora Smith moved to accept the Financial Reports for June as presented, Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.  .

Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for June the Library had 15 new cards with a Total Circulation of 3231 in June. Noting highest circulation in Children’s Fiction for the year.

Under President’s Report-there was none.

Under Library Association-It was noted that the annual Corporate Filing Fee was due in August.

Under Friends of the Library-it was noted that the Friends would host Robert Dunlap of the Missouri Cowboy Poet Association on August 14th, during their regular meeting date.

Under Old Business—it was noted that the Annual State Aid filing was due on July 31st.  Administrator Coulsell reported that the McBrayer Memorial project was nearing completion.

Under New Business—it was noted that the annual ProForma Tax Rate Submission was due to the State Auditor’s office on September 1st.

Also under New Business-Administrator Coulsell presented the Quarterly Financial Balance Report, Eleanora Smith moved to accept the report as presented, Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:45am.

The next meeting is to be August 21, 2023 at 10:00am.
