Monday, July 22, 2024

The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held July 22, 2024 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Shelly Aubuchon called the meeting to order at 10:00am

Members present were:

President, Shelly Aubuchon

Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins

Treasurer, Brenda Charles

Trustee, Judy Baker

Trustee, Kevin Bolling

Library Administrator, Stacy Coulsell

Also in attendance was member of the public, Wayne Stephenson

Secretary. Eleanora Smith was absent. Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

Brenda Charles moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Ernest Jenkins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Judy Baker moved to accept the minutes as read, Brenda Charles, seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented her monthly Administrator’s Report. Coulsell reported that Weekly Summer School Reading Hour continued. Coulsell reported that the Library was offering McReader punch cards sponsored by McDonalds after receiving ten punches and reading ten books, children participating would receive a Free McDonalds Happy Meal. This program will continue through September 30, 2024. Coulsell reported on the attendance of the Ventriloquist Program in June, featuring Doug Mickan, and the attendance of the Parasol Puppet show on Saturday, July 20, 2024. It was noted that there were more events planned for the remainder of the year, dates and times will be announced at a later date. Coulsell noted that the Library will be placing a Little Sharing Library at ALPS grocery store in Pittsburg. Coulsell also noted that during the week of July 15th the Library had hosted the local 4H Project Exhibits.

The balance as of July 22, 2024 was $104, 185.59. Judy Baker moved to accept the Financial Reports for June as presented, Brenda Charles seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

 

Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for July the Library had 33 new cards with a Total Circulation of 3391 in June.

Under President’s Report-Library Board President Shelly Aubuchon extended commendations to outgoing Board member, Judy Baker. Baker has served on the Library Board for twelve years. President Aubuchon commended Judy on her dedication to the Library Board and her work with all of the Hickory County community. In honor of her leaving, the Library Board presented Baker with a flower bouquet and a reception of cake and refreshments.

President Aubuchon also extended commendations to Administrator Coulsell and the Library Staff for the Summer Programs and the Hermitage Summer School project.

Under Library Association—it was noted that the Foundation repair work had been completed by Helitech and the dirt and berm work had also been completed by Platinum Precision Construction.

Under Friends of the Library—it was noted that local author Tami Treat-Boyne will be speaking at an upcoming Friends of the Library meeting.

Under Old Business-The Library Board welcomed new member, Kevin Bolling.

Under New Business, Library Administrator Coulsell presented the Second Quarter Financial Report, Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the report as presented, Brenda Charles seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Hearing no public comment and having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:15am
