June 2018 Regular Monthly Meeting

Monday, June 18, 2018
The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held June 18, 2018 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:00am.
Members present were:

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
After reviewing the agenda Shelly Aubuchon moved to approve the agenda as read. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
After reviewing the minutes Shelly Aubuchon moved to accept the minutes as read. Sharon Barrett seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave her monthly report. She reported that Story Hours with both the Preschool and the area Head Start had been completed for the school year. However, Coulsell will conduct a weekly Story Hour on Thursdays, beginning, June 14, 2018. This is a partnership with the Hermitage R-IV School, the Library will host K-2 grade students weekly throughout their summer school session. Coulsell noted that the Library’s Summer Programs had begun with the theme of “Libraries Rock!” The first official performer was Professor Farquar and Polecat Annie, with approximately 25 in attendance on June 14, 2018. Each child in attendance had received a book bag with an age appropriate book, pencil and bookmark. Coulsell reported that she had had a successful trip to the Book Expo America held in New York. She and staff member, Alyson Lile, had returned with $10,000 worth of free books for the Library’s shelves, many new young adult and children’s items will be added from this collection.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for April. The balance as of June 18, 2018 was $89, 828.11 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. This balance does not include the final portion of the 2017 Technology Ladder Grant in the amount of $1565.35, this will reflect in the June transactions. After hearing the Financial Reports for May. Sharon Barrett made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Shelly Aubuchon seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for April the Library had 31 new cards during the month with a Total Circulation of 3243. Noting year highs in Audio book and Children’s Non-Fiction checkouts.
Under President’s report there was none.
Under Friends of the Library-the Friends will host their annual October Book Sale, beginning October 8, 2018 and run for a full week.
Under Library Association-It was noted that Jones Paving had sealed and patched the parking lot for the building.
Under Old Business-It was noted that Shelly Aubuchon had reapplied for another term as a Library Board Trustee. It was also noted that the annual application for State Aid and Internet Compliance forms were due into the State Library by July 31, 2018.
Having no New Business and hearing no public comment the meeting adjourned at 10:55am.
