Monday, June 17, 2024

The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held on June 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

Vice President, Ernest Jernkins called the meeting to order at 10:05 am

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher with those present:

Trustee, Judy Baker was present via telephone

Library Administrator, Stacy Coulsell

President, Shelly Aubuchon was absent.

Judy Baker moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Brenda Charles seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Brenda Charles moved to accept the May minutes as read, Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented her monthly Administrator’s Report.  Coulsell noted that the Library as of June 3rd, was part of the McDonald’s McReader punch card program.  A child who received 10 punches on their card for reading 10 books received a coupon for a free Happy Meal from participating McDonalds. It was announced that the Library has a new volunteer, Rebecca Ralls on Mondays and Tuesday.  Coulsell reminded the board of the upcoming Ventriloquist Doug Mickan performance being on schedule for Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.  Coulsell also reported the Summer Olympics Reading program is under way. Last Story Hour there were 3 children in attendance.  The OCLC (interlibrary loan databases) Small Library services are in the process of updating the Hickory County Library’s catalog.

 

The balance as of June 17, 2024 was $129,865.80.  Eleanora Smith moved to accept the Financial Reports for May as presented, Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for May. The Library had 15 new cards with a Total Circulation of 3034 in May.

Under Old Business— The foundation repair is to begin June 28th and the deposit for that work has already been paid to Helitech. Wayne Stevenson may be doing the berm build up, which the library has received an invoice for that work.

Under New Business-Library Administrator Coulsell reported that OCHC (interlibrary loan databases) services will be uploading the Hickory County Library catalog to improve and enhance the Interlibrary Loans service offered by the Library.   Coulsell also noted that a little library will be placed at the Alps Supermarket in Pittsburg.

Having no further business and hearing no public comment, Brenda Charles moved to adjourn the meeting at 11:00 am, and Eleanora Smith seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

The next meeting is to be July 15, 2024 at 10:00am.
