March 2018 Regular Meeting

Monday, March 19, 2018

The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held March, 2018 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Hal Geltmacher called the meeting to order at 10:00am.

Members present were:

President, Hal Geltmacher

Secretary, Judy Baker

Treasurer, Gerda Fitts

Trustee, Shelly Aubuchon

Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Vice-President, Sharon Barrett was available via phone. Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

After reviewing the agenda Shelly Aubuchon moved to approve the agenda as read. Gerda Fitts seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave her monthly report. She reported that Story Hours with both the Preschool and the area Head Start continued. It was noted that the Children’s Craft Day was held on March 10, 2018 with volunteer Jamie Hennessy facilitating that event. Coulsell reported that Author Heather Heckadon’s book signing event had been rescheduled until April 9, 2018 at 10:00am. Coulsell reported that all of the special programming would had been planned for the year. Coulsell reported that both Carolyn Higginbotham and Joyce Glanville had returned from sick leave. Coulsell reported that four recipients had received board games, Jacen Wheeler, Teslye Swearengin, the DeGraffenreid family and the Griffith family. Coulsell is exploring adding an heirloom seed collection to the Library.

Administrator Coulsell plans to add another series of guided painting classes to the list of programs this year, with instructor Gwen Lind.

Coulsell has submitted the Second Interim Report on the Technology Ladder Grant utilized in 2017. She has completed the Workman’s
Compensation payroll audit and will begin working on the Annual Fiscal Report due to the State Auditor’s office in June of 2018.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for February. The balance as of March 19, 2018 was $130869.69 this reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. After hearing the Financial Reports for February. Judy Baker made the motion to accept the Financial Reports as presented. Shelly Aubuchon seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for February the Library had 9 new cards during the month with a Total Circulation of 3347.
Under President’s report there was none.

Under Friends of the Library-it was noted that the Friends would host a Fundraiser dinner on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm, this dinner will help to pay for the cost of the Library’s insurance.

Under President’s Report-there was none.

Under Library Association-there was none.

Under Old Business-the City of Hermitage has received MODot signage, the Library will accept the cost of the signage, and is awaiting the sign placement.

Under New Business the Library is in need of a new website. Administrator Coulsell has contacted SiteGuy.net formerly known as Red Kite Website Design, Step Out Web Designs and a local individual Blake Acker for bids on this project, after much deliberation it was decided to go with SiteGuy as they have built other public entity websites.

Hearing no public comment and having no further business the meeting adjourned at 11:15am
