Monday, March 21, 2022
The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held March 21, 2022 at 11:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Shelly Aubuchon called the meeting to order at 11:05am.
Members present were:
President, Shelly Aubuchon
Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins
Treasurer, Brenda Charles
Trustee, Eleanora Smith via telephone
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
Secretary, Judy Baker was absent. Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
Brenda Charles moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Ernest Jenkins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the minutes from the January regular meeting as read, it is noted that there was no February meeting held as it was postponed. Brenda Charles seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented her monthly report. Coulsell is currently investigating in-person programs for both summer and fall special programs. Administrator Coulsell is looking into adding additional streaming services to the Library’s electronic databases. Coulsell reported that local 4-H groups are continuing to utilize the Library’s Community Room for project nights. Coulsell also reported that the Library would again be partnering with the Hickory County Health Department in a water safety presentation. and with healthy snacks and craft sessions. Story Hour with Hermitage Preschool continued.
Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for January and February; the balance as of March 21, 2022 was $150,857.75. This reflects the balance of both the Library accounts. Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the Financial Reports for January and February as presented. Brenda Charles seconded,and the motion carried unanimously.
Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for January and February. The Library had 22 new cards with a Total Circulation of 4,291 in January and 3,949 in February. She noted the Library had been closed January 6th, February 17th, 24th, and 25th for snow days.
Under President’s Report - President Shelly Aubuchon extended commendations to Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell for her continued dedication to the Library and the consideration of the staff during inclement weather. She extended commendations to the Library Staff and volunteers for their continued efforts and dedication to the Library, as well.
Under Friends of the Library -It was noted that the Friends will host a Spring Book Sale from April 25th through May 2nd.
Under Old Business - Carpeting of the Community room was discussed, but this item was tabled until more information becomes available. Equalization funds for 2022 were discussed. Potential upgrades to the Library include lighting, programs and upgrading the Library’s current color copier.
Under New Business - Library Administrator Reported that Missouri State Senator Sandy Crawford will be presenting a new flag to the Library on Friday April 1, 2022 at 2:00pm.
Also under New Business, the Library Board discussed a memorial presentation in honor of William McBrayer, but this item was tabled. Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell will continue to investigate this project.
The next meeting will be April 18, 2022 at 11:00am.
Having no further business and hearing no public comment, the meeting adjourned at 12:00pm.
