The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held on May 20, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Shelly Aubuchon called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm
Members present were:

Library Administrator, Stacy Coulsell
Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
Judy Baker moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Brenda Charles seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented her monthly Administrator’s Report. Coulsell noted that the Library was continuing to host a Reading Incentive punch card event. Cousell reported that a second child, Oliver Meeks, read 80 books, completing this past event. Oliver has received a Scrabble game, a new book of his choice, and a $10.00 Barnes & Noble gift card. Oliver was featured on the Library’s Facebook page and in the Index. Administrator Coulsell shared the Hickory County Library Summer Program Schedule, which can be seen on the website. The Summer Program Schedule includes Ventriloquist Doug Mickn on Saturday, June 22nd at 11 am; Parasol Puppets on July 20th at 11 am and thee Osage Wind Rider, Robert Roe on Tuesday, August 14th at 1:00 pm. Coulsell reported that the the Hickory County Library will offer an in-house Story Hour through the Summer on the second Tuesday of June and July at 11:00 am. Cousell will participate with the Hermitage Summer Students in a reading program. More program dates will be announced. It was noted that the Friends of Library’s book sale was a success and the library has received a donation from their proceeds.
Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for April. The Library had 34 new cards (includes 20 Hermitage 2nd graders receiving their first cards) with a Total Circulation of 3275 in April.
Under President’s Report – the excellent job by the Master Gardeners was noted with the refreshing and replanting of the flower beds in front of the library.
Under Old Business—Two additional bids (Michael Mohler with Helitech and Wayne Stevenson with Platinum Precision) were presented for the Foundation/Footing Repair on the exterior of the Library building. Judy Baker moved to accept the Helitech bid and Ernest Jenkins seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Under New Business-Library Administrator Coulsell reported that the Library will be updating their WorldCat and OCHC (interlibrary loan databases). Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell is also investigating an additional database/streaming service, more information will be available soon.
Having no further business and hearing no public comment, Judy Baker moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:15 pm, Brenda Charles seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The next meeting is to be June 17, 2024 at 10:00am.
