November 2021 Regular Monthly Meeting

Monday, November 22, 2021

The regular meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held November 22, 2021 at 11:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

Members present were:
President, Shelly Aubuchon
Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins
Secretary Judy Baker
Trustee, Eleanora Smith
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

 

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.  Treasurer Brenda Charles was absent.

President Shelly Aubuchon called the meeting to order at 11:05 a.m.

Judy Baker moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Eleanora Smith seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Administrator Coulsell presented her Administrator’s Report. Coulsell reported that the Preschool story hour had resumed. Coulsell reported that the pedestals for the remaining three Little Sharing Libraries had been constructed by Board member, Ernest Jenkins. Administrator Coulsell noted that she will be submitting the Annual Statistical Report to the State Library due by November 30, 2021. Coulsell also reported that the Robert Mathews Children’s Area Dedication was awaiting the arrival of a custom-ordered sign. Once that is received, a dedication ceremony will be announced. Coulsell reported that the Library will host Santa on December 11, 2021 with a corresponding holiday craft. Coulsell is currently investigating programs for the 2022 calendar.

Administrator Coulsell presented the Financial Reports for October; the balance as of November was $40633.04. This reflects the balance of both the Library accounts Eleanora Smith moved to accept the Financial Reports for July as presented. Ernest Jenkins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for October. The Library had 11 new cards with a Total Circulation 4110, noting 104 checkouts in the Hoopla database, a year-high to date. Also noting that the Library had been closed from October 18th through October 23rd for carpet installation.

Under President’s Report – President Shelly Aubuchon commended the Library Staff for their continued dedication to the Hickory County Library. She also extended commendation to Board Member Ernest Jenkins for constructing all of the Little Libraries that will be put in place within the community.

Under Library Association - It was noted that the Parking Lot had been sealed and striped.

Under Friends of the Library -  It was noted that the Friends are hosting a FREE book table through the end of November. The Dollar Bag book sale will resume in December.

Under Old Business - The Library is still waiting for the Community Room carpet installation. It was noted that the Library will host Officer Elections at the December Regular Meeting.

Under New Business - Christian DeLozier presented the 2022 Liability Insurance Premium. Judy Baker moved to accept the Insurance proposal as presented. Ernest Jenkins seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Also Under New Business -  Administrator Coulsell presented the 2022 Preliminary Budget; this item was tabled until more financial information was available. Coulsell reported that the Library had received a new Firewall and wireless router from MOREnet through the REAL Initiative.

Having no further business and hearing no public comment, the meeting adjourned at 11:55 a.m.
