Monday, November 21, 2022

The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held November 21, 2022 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Shelly Aubuchon called the meeting to order at 10:05am

Members present were:
President, Shelly Aubuchon
Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins
Treasurer, Brenda Charles
Secretary, Judy Baker
Trustee, Eleanora Smith
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

Eleanora Smith moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Brenda Charles moved to accept the minutes from the October Regular Meeting as read. Eleanora Smith seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave her monthly Administrator’s Report. Coulsell reported that the Library had several programs during the month of October. She noted that the Library had hosted a Children’s Craft Day, Folk Music Concert with Andy & Judy, a Public Story Hour, and hosted Trick or Treaters Halloween Night. The Library provided a book bag and a selection of treats to incoming visitors. Coulsell reported that the Library had received the 2023 portions of State Aid, Athlete and Entertainment Funds and Equalization Funding. Administrator Coulsell reported that the Library had two new employees, Mary Schultz and Donna Thomas.

The balance as of November 21, 2022 was $53249.62. Judy Baker moved to accept the Financial Reports for September as presented, Eleanora Smith seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for September: The Library had 13 new cards with a Total Circulation of 3799 in October.

Under President’s Report - Library Board President Shelly Aubuchon extended a commendation to Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell for the Theme and Decoration of the Library During Halloween. this year’s theme was “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”

Under Friends - It was noted that the Friends had a very successful book sale and will have a presence representing the Library at the Light Up the Dam Event and during the Hermitage Christmas Parade.

Under Library Association - It was noted that the Library is still awaiting carpet installation. It was also decided to explore the purchase of a secondary storage building.

Under Old Business -Administrator Coulsell reported that the Equalization funds allotted for 2022 had been expended.

Under New Business - Administrator Coulsell presented a Preliminary Budget for 2023. This item was tabled until final figures are available. The Library Board reviewed the annual liability insurance quote from Mike Keith Insurance.

Hearing no public comment and having no further business the meeting adjourned at 10:55am.
