Monday, October 17, 2022
The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held October 17, 2022 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
Vice-President Ernest Jenkins called the meeting to order at 10:00am
Members present were:
Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins
Treasurer, Brenda Charles
Secretary, Judy Baker
Trustee, Eleanora Smith
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator
President, Shelly Aubuchon was absent.
Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
Eleanora Smith moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Brenda Charles moved to accept the minutes from the August Annual Meeting as read; Eleanora Smith seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell gave her monthly Administrator’s Report. Coulsell reported that the Library had several programs slated for the month of October. Folk Music performers Andy & Judy Daigle will perform at the Hickory County Library on Tuesday, Oct.18 at 6:00pm. The Library will host a Children’s Story hour on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 10:30. This event is geared toward preschool age children. The library will host a Children’s Craft Day on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11:00am. OCHC will be on site to help to assist with open enrollment on Marketplace for anyone needing assistance registering for health insurance. A representative from Banker’s Life will be at the Library on Oct. 27 from 9:30am until 12:00pm for health/life insurance registrations. The Library will host Trick or Treaters from 5:00 - 8:00pm on Monday, Oct. 31. Coulsell will be completing the Annual Statistical Report for the State Library in November.
The balance as of October 17, 2022 was $53,527.87. Judy Baker moved to accept the Financial Reports for September as presented, Eleanora Smith seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for September: The Library had 28 new cards, with a Total Circulation of 3925 in September.
Under President’s Report - There was none.
Under Library Association - It was noted that the Library still awaits the carpet installation for the Community Room.
Under Friends - It was noted that today, October 17, was the closing day of the Book Sale. This year the Friends offered a themed basket raffle and a baked good sale.
Under Old Business - A Slate of Officers was presented by the Nominating Committee, but this item was tabled until next meeting.
Under New Business - Administrator Coulsell presented the Third Quarter Balance Report. After reviewing the report, Brenda Charles moved to accept the report as presented. Eleanora Smith seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Also Under New Business - After some discussion Ernest Jenkins moved to set the Library’s Winter Hours as follows: Monday through Friday, 9:30am until 6:00pm, and Saturdays 9:30am until 1:00pm, effective November 1, 2022. Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Having no further business, Eleanora Smith motioned to adjourn the meeting at 10:45am. Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The next meeting will be November 21, 2022 at 10:00am.
