Monday, September 19, 2022

The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held September 19, 2022 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.

President Shelly Aubuchon called the meeting to order at 10:00am

Members present were:
President, Shelly Aubuchon
Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins
Treasurer, Brenda Charles
Secretary, Judy Baker
Trustee, Eleanora Smith
Stacy Coulsell, Library Administrator

Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.

Eleanora Smith moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Ernest Jenkins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

Judy Baker moved to accept the minutes from the August Annual Meeting as read; Eleanora Smith seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Ernest Jenkins moved to approve the minutes from the August Regular meeting as read ;Brenda Charles seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented her Administrator’s Report. Coulsell noted that the Preschool Story Hour had resumed with the start of the school year. Coulsell visits the Hermitage Bumblebee Preschool monthly. Coulsell will be adding a regular monthly Story Hour to be held at the Library for young children, date to be announced. Administrator noted that the Library had a new Saturday volunteer, Katelyn Freeman, who attends Weaubleau school. The Library plans to place three additional Little Libraries in the community. Coulsell reported that the Library will host Stone Lion Puppet Theater on Saturday, December 3rd, with the program Twas. Coulsell is investigating a Community Grant through the Kaysinger Basin Planning Commission.

Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for July, and the Library had 28 new cards with a Total Circulation of 4162 in August.

Under President’s Report - There was none.

Under Friends of the Library - October Book Sale planned.

Under Old Business - It was noted that the Library had received confirmation from the County and the State Auditor’s office that the Library Tax Rate had been approved and the Library district was in compliance with the law.

Also Under Old Business, a slate of officers was listed from the Nominating Committee. This item was tabled until the October meeting.

Under New Business -The Library Board reviewed the financial reports for July and August. Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the Financial Reports for July as presented, Eleanora Smith seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. Brenda Charles moved to accept the Financial Reports for August. Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The balance as of September 19, 2022 was $65,441.97.

Hearing no public comment and having no further business, Ernest Jenkins motioned to adjourn the meeting at 10:40am. Judy Baker seconded and the motion carried.

The next meeting will be October 17, 2022 at 10:00am.
