September 2023 Regular Meeting

Monday, September 18, 2023
The Regular Meeting of the Hickory County Library Board was held September 18, 2023 at 10:00am in the Hickory County Library Community Room, at the Hickory County Library, 18376 New Hermitage Drive, Hermitage, Missouri, 65668.
President Shelly Aubuchon called the meeting to order at 10:00am
Members present were:
President, Shelly Aubuchon
Vice-President, Ernest Jenkins
Treasurer, Brenda Charles
Secretary, Eleanora Smith
Trustee, Judy Baker
Library Administrator, Stacy Coulsell
Attendance was taken via the expense voucher.
Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the Agenda as presented. Brenda Charles seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Judy Baker moved to accept the Annual Meeting minutes as read, Ernest Jenkins, seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
After noting corrections made the Regular Meeting minutes, Ernest Jenkins moved to accept the minutes as read, Judy Baker seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Library Administrator Stacy Coulsell presented her Administrator’s report. Coulsell reported that she had resumed Story Hour with the Hermitage Preschool. Coulsell noted that the Library would host Crafter Cindi Mudd on September 26th at 5:30pm for a guided Christmas craft session. Coulsell reported that the StoneLion Puppet Theater will present Starry, Starry Night on October 10th at 6:00pm. Coulsell is in the process of budgeting for Fiscal Year 2024. She will be completing the Annual Statistical Report due in November.
The balance as of September 18, 2023 was $77,195.72. Judy Baker moved to accept the Financial Reports for August as presented, Ernest Jenkins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. Eleanora Smith moved to transfer $1500.00 to the Library Association account. Ernest Jenkins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Coulsell presented the Circulation Report for August the Library had 18 new cards with a Total Circulation of 3542 in August. Noting year highs in internet use and Library visits.
Under President’s Report—President Shelly Aubuchon suggested investigating a library card registration with the local schools and expanding in person Story Hour with all area schools however that may fit into local school calendars.
Under Library Association it was noted that the Annual Corporate Filing Fee was
submitted in August.
Under Old Business-The Collection Development Committee went through first edits of revised Collection Development Policy, this item was tabled until finalized.
Under New Business, it was noted that the Library had received an anonymous donation.
Hearing no public comment and having no further business the meeting adjourned at 10:40am.
